live arts - Concert
SHIDA SHAHABI
Friday, April 11, 7:30 pm, Bundeskunsthalle, Bonn
Each of her notes touches the heart, her music is full of sensitivity and contemplation. Delicate piano and cello lines are accompanied by drone waves. The felt-muffled piano, clever microphone placement and the gentle beauty of her compositions create a feeling of closeness that emphasizes the simple, gentle beauty of her compositions - unagitated and unhurried.
Born in Stockholm in 1989, Shida Shahabi listened to Persian pop music from the 1970s as well as classical works at home. She began composing at the age of eleven, and when she started studying at the Royal College of Fine Arts in Stockholm in 2009, she decided to combine this creative musical urge with her passion for the visual arts.
In 2023, Shahabi released her second album "Living Circle", a carefully calibrated blend of classical and electronic elements. Combining ambient and drone techniques with traditional structures, its emotional resonance floats weightlessly in deeply atmospheric, stripped-down compositions rich in textural detail and imbued with a profound warmth
