KAFVKA is a band from Berlin that has been politically active for many years and campaigns for social justice and against the right. The underground hit "Alle hassen Nazis" has reached a total of almost 10 million streams to date and has become an integral part of every left-wing demo. KAVFKA's aim is to spread the message of a better world through music and to inspire people to think and act.

Let's be honest: a hopeful look into the future has never been easier. Between the climate crisis, war, the global shift to the right and late capitalism, there is little room for dreams and utopias. The world is ailing, the mood is in the basement, Rio Reiser is dead. The Berlin band KAFVKA - who have always been known for their political commitment and sensitive sensibility - have by no means been left cold by the developments of recent years. "KAPUTT", the fourth album in the band's ten-year history to be released on June 28, 2024, revolves open-heartedly and multi-layered around the interaction between damaged living environments and individuals damaged by the overall shit. What does it mean to be at the bottom of the food chain? To be forced to flee? Having to beg in the subway? To have no chance of housing while others live in palaces? And what would happen if all those affected by injustice finally stood up to change the situation together? KAFVKA once again try to find answers to these questions ... In their usual aggressive and unusually introspective manner. "KAPUTT" is not only the most abysmal, darkest album in KAFVKA's discography to date, it is also the most personal. The big slogans of earlier days have been pushed into the background; where previously there were raised fists, this time the focus is on personal emotional states, inner crises and moments of self-reflection with noticeably greater frequency. Singer, rapper and lyricist Jonas Kakoschke began writing new lyrics at a difficult time for him: 2021, shortly after he was diagnosed with depression. Thought-provoking pieces such as "Danke nein ja bitte sehr", "Symptom" or "Wie aus Stein" are inextricably linked to the struggles of this time: "I can't be if everything goes on like this / don't want to be in there while so many are still outside". However, "KAPUTT" also proves - and this is one of the great strengths of this album - that individual construction sites and the political zeitgeist are often inextricably interwoven. Socially induced frustration can paralyze, can kill dreams, can change personalities and haunt them in the most private of ways.
