The new and third album of the Viennese fast lane madness band Leftovers, which will be released on October 11, 2024, is called: "Es kann sein, dass alles endet". A good title, but it certainly doesn't apply to the band itself, which has grown up in the best possible way with this album - and at the same time continues to burn brightly. In a recent column for "Rolling Stone", author Eric Pfeil wrote a hymn to the romantic idea of the band as a gang of friends. A rock band, according to Pfeil, is a "hotbed of mischief" with "errant ambitions", and forming one himself is "one of the most meaningful endeavors of all for young people." Perhaps Eric Pfeil was thinking of the Viennese band Leftovers when he wrote this fiery appeal. For three albums now, Leftovers have been celebrating what it means to unhinge the world with your friends in an energizing and invigorating way. The new album, "Es kann sein, dass alles endet", which will be released on October 11, 2024, is now more than ever the band's "everyone does everything" record - and in this respect the most collaborative Leftovers music to date. All four have written lyrics, sung, everything merges and reinforces each other. Often you don't know who is singing or doing what, but it doesn't matter: everything on this startlingly stunning album is Leftovers. The perhaps not so surprising and by no means self-evident thing about it: Anna Grob, Leon Eder, Leonid Sushon and Alex Waismayer, whose names we will write out once here for once before calling them Anna, Leon, Leonid and Alex again, are four very different individuals. And of course they feel, perceive, dream and are different.
