Jasper van't Hof & Tony Lakatos are two great representatives of European jazz on stage! Dutchman Jasper van't Hof is one of the most popular contemporary jazz musicians among German audiences. With the groups Association P.C. and Pork Pie, the pianist was one of the pioneers of European jazz rock. Whether on the concert grand piano, church organ or electronic keyboards, whether solo or with his African-inspired band Pili Pili, van't Hof's playing is always characterized by exuberant vitality and rhythmic complexity.
With the Hungarian tenor saxophonist Tony Lakatos, a member of the HR Big Band since 1993 and now in well-deserved retirement, van't Hof meets a particularly convincing representative of American-influenced modern jazz. In this extraordinary project, Jasper van't Hof benefits from his profound knowledge of classical music on the one hand and his love of African folklore in particular on the other.
