To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the renowned agency ASTAMATITOS World Music is inviting the legendary band Locomondo to Germany for three exclusive concerts.

The seven-piece band from Athens has been one of the best-known and most popular formations in Greece for many years.

With their unique sound, they combine the sounds of the Mediterranean with the pulsating rhythms of the Caribbean. Reggae, ska, dub, rock and traditional Greek music merge into an explosive mixture. Their energetic concerts are a firework display of joie de vivre, passion and musical virtuosity - perfect for singing along, dancing and taking off.

Lead singer Markos Koumaris inspires not only with his charismatic stage presence, but also with his impressive variety of languages. He switches between Greek, English, German, Italian and Spanish with ease and combines rhythms, sounds, history and identity to create an incomparable performance.

The band relies on an impressive variety of instruments: in addition to guitar, bass, drums and keyboard, accordion, bouzouki and the traditional baglama are also used. Locomondo thus creates an unmistakable soundscape that combines the warmth of the Greek sun with the relaxed Jamaican way of life.

Locomondo has already shared the stage with music greats such as Manu Chao, Alpha Blondy, The Wailers, The Skatalites, Aswad, Mad Professor and many others.

The band's international breakthrough came in 2005 with the album "12 meres stin Jamaica", which was recorded in collaboration with Skatalites trombonist Vin Gordon at the legendary Studio One in Kingston, Jamaica.

That same year, Nikos Nikiforos, founder of the ASTAMATITOS World Music agency, discovered the album while on vacation in Greece. The reggae version of the Rembetiko classic "Frangosyriani " by Markos Vamvakaris in particular left a lasting impression on him and led to him inviting Locomondo to their first concerts in Germany in 2006.

It even led to Fatih Akin, the German-Turkish film director, screenwriter and producer, being inspired by the ingenious Locomondo song "Frangosyriani" in 2009. The song found a place in the soundtrack of his award-winning film "Soul Kitchen" as well as at the world premiere of the film during the 66th Venice Film Festival, for the actors' walk on the red carpet.

The collaboration between ASTAMATITOS World Music and Locomondo was the beginning of an extraordinary success story, characterized by a shared passion for the fusion of cultures and world music.

Over the years, numerous tours and unforgettable concerts have been created, which are now being celebrated in style with the anniversary concerts.
