LOST IN MUSIC:
Stories from pop music
Event with readings and live music
IT'S A HARDCORE NIGHT was the name of a series of events in Munich at which authors, actors and celebrities read texts from their favorite books published by Heyne Hardcore, which still existed at the time, accompanied by local musicians and bands on the fly and then danced together.
Heyne Hardcore is now history.
But now the former publishing director and initiator of the event series Markus Naegele (also known as Don Marco as a musician and DJ) is bringing together what belongs together again under the motto LOST IN MUSIC (based on the cult book by Giles Smith).
There will be live music on the fly, but not just any music, no, LOST IN MUSIC is not least about the high art of cover versions, performed by local acts.
Afterwards, DJ friends play their favorite records and it's time to party.

The performers
Roderich Fabian is a former punk rocker and radio DJ (from 1987 to 2023, mainly at Zündfunk on Bayern 2). He is now a freelance journalist and author again, has just completed his first autofictional novel and is still involved with music, although he no longer chases after the latest novelties, but is only now recognizing the meaning of Bread and the Carpenters, for example.
Anja Signitzer studied physical theater at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and completed a bachelor's degree in theater studies at the University of Vienna. She has been a member of the Münchner Kammerspiele ensemble since 2023.
Anatol Regnier was born in 1945 as the second child of Pamela Wedekind and Charles Regnier. He learned to play the guitar at an early age. He studied at the Royal College of Music in London and then traveled at home and abroad as a guitarist. He taught at the conservatory in Munich for a long time. In 1985, he moved to Australia with his first wife, the well-known Israeli singer Nehama Hendel, and his children. In 1997, he published "Damals in Bolechow", a book about the fate of a Jewish family from Galicia. His most recent book is "Memoirs of a Good-for-Nothing". Today, Anatol Regnier lives in Munich and on Lake Starnberg.
Alexandra Martini is a freelance journalist and presenter for Radio Bayern2, Bayerischer Rundfunk. Since 2016, she has been writing radio reports and features on migration, feminism, social justice, pop culture and debates and hosts the radio program Zündfunk. Trained as an actress at the HfS Ernst Busch, she is also a freelance actress, performer and theater maker. Her work has been funded several times and has appeared at festivals (RODEO, At.tension, Edinburgh Fringe). In 2023, she also received a grant from the City of Munich to set up a feminist clown network in Munich. She is the founder of "The Lost Cabaret", a cabaret night of comic FLINTAs for all, at Import Export Munich.
Caro Kelley is an American singer and pianist from Munich. Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Caro can often be seen in and around Munich. Whether solo or with her seven-piece soul-pop band, her musical style crosses genres and combines jazzy vocals and upbeat pop songs with an indie rock attitude. Caro's debut album "Playroom" was released in 2022 and earned her five awards at the German Rock & Pop Awards 2022, including Best Pop Singer, Best Pop Album and Song of the Year. In May 2025, she will release her second album "QUIET", which will be accompanied by a tour.
The title of his album "Jason B. Sad/Jason B. Glad" shows that Jason Arigato has at least two sides. And he actually has two identities. Because behind Jason is Albert Pöschl, musician and operator of the Munich indie label Echokammer. Jason Arigato, the name first appeared in 1999. At the time, Albert Pöschl used this pseudonym to join the Munich synth-pop band Queen Of Japan, which the international music world believed for a while was actually from Japan. With Jason Arigato, Pöschl refers to role models such as David Bowie or Klaus Nomi, who also constantly reinvented themselves.
Don Marco has been playing in various underground bands since the 90s. As singer, guitarist and songwriter in the indie garage band Fuck Yeah, he released two albums and played with bands such as Maximo Park, Algiers and Frightened Rabbit. As Don Marco & die kleine Freiheit, he released two albums in German with various musicians. 2024 saw the live debut of his new band Drug Stop. Under his real name Markus Naegele, he earned his living as publishing director at Heyne Hardcore, most recently as head of the btb Verlag program.
King Brownie comes from Osnabrück, where he influenced a whole generation musically as a DJ in Hyde Park and supported the likes of Die Ärzte, Stray Cats, Hanoi Rocks, Bo Diddley and the Undertones. He managed Lüde & the Astros for many years and works as a record salesman.
