We are delighted to invite you to a talk with the renowned composer Louis Dufort. The talk will take place the evening before his concert. Louis Dufort lives in Montreal and is one of the most important figures in contemporary electro-acoustic music. He is known for his immersive and finely crafted works. His compositions are presented internationally and often explore the boundaries between abstraction and emotion.
In conversation, he will provide insights into his compositional process and philosophy, as well as talk about the artistic and technical considerations that shape his work. He will also present SpatGRIS, a software developed in Montreal for composing the spatialization of sounds and movement in music. Another topic will be the renowned Akousma Festival, an important platform for spatial and acousmatic music in North America.
