SomoS Arts is pleased to invite you to Love as an Act of Being - a lecture performance by Berlin-based artist and performer Lisa Stertz.

Lisa Stertz returns to SomoS with a new edition of her work on love, which was first presented in 2015. The evening is entitled Love as an Act of Being and is once again dedicated to the perennial question: What is love?

Inspired by Erich Fromm's The Art of Loving, which addresses the contradiction between the great promise of love and its frequent failure, Stertz revisits earlier questions - not to understand love as a fleeting feeling or ideal, but as a living human practice: something to be practiced, embodied and lived.

The event marks the 10th anniversary of the original performance series and combines spoken word, live performance, movement and photo documentation.
Through these mediums, Stertz opens up a space for reflection and experience, inviting the audience to understand love as a resilient force - something that deserves our presence, attention and devotion.
