Life as a real estate agent in the suburbs of Milwaukee isn't exactly exciting, and it should stay that way if Marvin (Oscar® winner Ke Huy Quan) has his way. But who asks Marvin? At least not Rose (Oscar® winner Ariana DeBose), whom he once saved from death.
Betrayal and a double game: In LOVE HURTS - LIEBE TUT WEH, a different world opens up when looking behind the facade of a completely average normal citizen. Marvin is even a bit boring, the way he sells well-kept suburban houses. But when his past turns out to be much more vivid than he would like, and his own brother (Daniel Wu), an unpredictable gangster boss, turns up, peaceful suburban homes suddenly become deadly combat zones.
