A celebration of dance with a concert feel, a choreographic ode to the sound and mood of the 1980s - the contemporary musical "Lovetrain2020" by Emanuel Gat celebrates movement, the body and life in a dazzling space full of possibilities with 14 dancers and the world-famous hits of the British duo Tears for Fears.

Premiered in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in October 2020, the work not only shows the power of bodies and community, but also draws a connection to music history: Tears for Fears marked the beginning of a global upswing in British pop music. Choreographer Emanuel Gat gives the unmistakable music space and yet finds different approaches to the band's rhythms and lyrics with the dancers in his company. The extraordinary language of movement not only creates new references to world-famous hits such as "Shout" or "Everybody Wants to Rule the World", but also breathtaking images. In the interplay of light and shadow, designed by Emanuel Gat, and the colorful costumes by Thomas Bradley, dancer of the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, people find freedom in movement and energy in stillness, pause and break out into a frenzy of colors and shapes.
