The basic idea of the poetry slam is not just to read texts, but to present them in the form of a performance.

These are our rules:
Only your own texts may be performed. The time limit is 5
minutes, can be extended if the audience is happy. The
texts will be judged by a jury from the audience. The jury will be
appointed spontaneously by the moderators at the beginning of the event. The
jury rates the texts on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being grotty
bad or 10 as a candidate for the Nobel Prize for Literature. The winner
is the one who has received the most points from the jury. There may also be
also a final round.
