Lucas Imbiriba

Lucas Imbiriba, known for his unique arrangements of popular songs for solo guitar, covers a wide range of genres, from rock and pop to classical music, flamenco and Brazilian rhythms. He promises an exceptionally varied concert evening, the likes of which our club has rarely experienced.
Lucas first came to Bielefeld at the age of 11 and is looking forward to visiting our city again, as his stepfather is from Brackwede.

He started playing the guitar at the age of 10 and only 5 years later won first prize at the national Brazilian guitar competition "Souza Lima". This earned him a full scholarship to study at the major music universities in Barcelona, Spain, and Nuremberg, Germany.
During his studies, he was awarded more than 10 prizes at music and classical guitar competitions in Europe. During this time he mastered the classical and flamenco guitar and gave solo concerts and concerts with orchestra in more than 20 countries around the globe. At this point, he felt it was time for a new musical journey.
In search of a new path, Lucas released two rock albums as a guitarist, singer and songwriter. In 2011, he released the first album entitled "Lucas Cesar Expedition", which saw him tour the coasts of Portugal, Spain, France and Italy with his former rock band. Two years later, he released a second rock album entitled "Change of Plans", on which he mixes rock music with different musical styles such as classical, flamenco and Brazilian rhythms. This last album was a wake-up call for Lucas to move back to Brazil and explore his musical roots.
Back in Brazil, he began performing with various local music groups in 2013, while continuing to tour Europe and Russia, performing in large music halls and appearing as a soloist with major philharmonic orchestras. In the meantime, a new understanding of his relationship to the guitar and to music itself was developing in his mind and soul.
In 2020, Lucas Imbiriba went viral on Youtube with his fingerstyle and acoustic versions of songs such as Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin), Desperado (Los Lobos) and Hotel California (The Eagles), reaching more than 20 million views in less than a year.
In 2021, he released a new album entitled "Epic Journey", on which he played 10 outstanding arrangements of world-famous movie themes, classic rock songs and original songs for guitar.
In 2023, after the pandemic, he was invited to present his new album in Europe and play a tour in England, Germany, Portugal, Norway (Larvik Guitar Festival) and France at the prestigious Patrimonio Guitar Festival.
In the same year Lucas was invited to be the lead guitarist of the Yusuf Cat Stevens Band and toured Germany, Italy, Spain and England. The tour ended with a performance on the Pyramid Stage at the legendary Glastonbury Festival, where he played in front of 200,000 people. The show was broadcast live by BBC London. Lucas is currently known worldwide for his spectacular and breathtaking guitar performances, which combine the fire of the flamenco guitar, the percussive rhythms of Latin America, the lyrical melodies of classical music and the power of rock'n'roll.
