LUCHS award ceremony

Congratulations to Michéle Fischels and Eva Rottmann! The two authors have been awarded the LUCHS of the Year 2024, the prestigious children's and young adult book prize from ZEIT and Radio Bremen.

🖋️ Michéle Fischels receives the award for her graphic novel "Outline " - a powerful story that captures the last year before high school graduation: exam stress, "last times" and first love. A time when everything is simultaneously on the brink and slowly unraveling.

📚 Eva Rottmann is honored for her short story collection "Fucking Fucking Beautiful". In ten stories, she tells of first times - from kisses and orgasms to first experiences with love and lust. Her characters are anything but perfect: they make mistakes, cheat, lie to themselves and hurt others. But that is precisely why they are so human and tangible.

Comic artist Barbara Yelin will give the laudatory speech for the award winners, while Katrin Hörnlein, editor of the Young Readers section, will host the evening.
