DE: Urban Futurism: Converging Spaces and Power Dynamics

This focus tour will explore how Luiz Roque reimagines urban landscapes as sites where historical tensions, futurist visions and socio-political forces collide. The tour will focus on Roque's depiction of cities as dynamic spaces where interplays between freedom and control and public and private spheres reflect broader struggles for power and identity. We will discuss how Roque fuses these elements with modernist architecture and the clash of dystopian and utopian elements, creating a visual dialog that challenges traditional views of depicted environments. In addition, we will analyze how Roque's film aesthetics intersect with his ceramic works.
