Since Hazmat Modine first came to Europe in 2007, they have built up a huge fan base. They have not only played here, but have also traveled to China, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Brazil and Mexico.

Bandleader Wade Schuman and guitarist Erik Della Penna have been working on new songs for a long time, which can be heard on the new album "Bonfire". Even after 16 years of intensive touring, the band's blend of blues, world and jazz elements still makes for a unique live experience. They call their new album and the songs on it: "songs of a restless America, of dissatisfaction, reflection, and hope". New songs like "Garden of Grievance" and "Too Fat to Fly" are sharp social critiques that range in musical styles from '70s folk-blues to rocksteady. Other songs like "Paulina" and "Late at Night" are moving country tales that deal with the complications of intimate relationships.

The band is still a lush mix of vocals, guitars, harmonica, drums, percussion, tuba, saxophone, trumpet and trombone. The latest addition to play on "Bonfire" and also perform live with the band is the young violin virtuoso Daisy Castro, a bright star with amazing musicality. In November 2023, Hazmat Modine celebrated their 25th anniversary in New York with a stunning birthday concert.

The band will go into the studio in Germany on the current 2025 tour to record the follow-up CD to BONFIRE, which will finally be released as VINYL in time for the tour.
