Lux Freilicht: Kurs Südwest - Das Abenteuer meines Lebens

In the organizer's words:

Before starting his career, student Lukas Borchers wants to experience something new, leave everyday life behind and realize a dream. He sets off on a trip through southern Europe in his kayak. First, Borchers paddles from Geneva via the Rhône and the Loire across France. He reaches the Atlantic in Saint Nazaire and then heads south along the coast. When the conditions became too difficult and dangerous in the fall, he continued his journey across the Bay of Biscay on an old sailing ship. All this without any significant experience in sea kayaking or sailing, but with some unexpected obstacles such as the dams on the Rhône and the notorious storms on the Bay of Biscay. The film takes us on a four-month, 2,000-kilometre journey full of adventure, changes of plan and breathtaking landscapes.
