Lyrik-Lesung: »Der Osten leuchtet«

Do we perceive Eastern Europe mainly as a region of crises? Probably - but as is so often the case, it's the nuances that count. On the many changes in the incidence of light and shadow that bring a picture to life. In the poetry anthology Der Osten leuchtet, this can be verified. Editors Ralf-Rainer Rygulla and Marco Sagurna have brought together 92 authors from 24 countries in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. The result is a kind of poetic map of great thematic and vocal diversity. It is about the present, about life, love and death; in a vital and linguistically sensitive way, it is about what is there. These are poems that describe poignant things. They include Aleksej Bobrovnikov (Ukraine), Bela Chekurishvili (Georgia), Luljeta Lleshanaku (Albania) and Marko Pogačar(Croatia). In conversation with the poet Caroline Hartge and Marco Sagurna, we will explore whether poetry that gasps for air can do more.
