Mona and Kris Köhler conceived and wrote the play together with Stefan Keim as their first own work in 2017. At a time when an American president had been elected to office that one could never have imagined, let alone wished for. And now he's back!
So do it again, Mona Lisa!
The most famous painting in the world has been stolen from the Louvre, and now the American president has announced his visit! The smell of impending scandal is in the air.
Leo has to follow in Leonardo's footsteps and fast! Normally he stands on the banks of the Seine and paints caricatures of tourists, but now he has to copy the Mona Lisa in one night! And the not-so-Romanian cleaner Draga is only of limited help to him as a model. Why won't she smile at all?
With lots of humor and attention to detail, the audience is trapped on stage with the two of them in the Louvre until the painting is completed. And of course, things turn out very differently than initially thought...
