Ten years ago, some young Düsseldorf students founded the junge kammerchor düsseldorf in order to enrich the local music scene with a creative, young and ambitious vocal ensemble. Since then, we have realized 20 projects with vocal music from the 20th and 21st centuries. We have worked with deaf sign language artists, a Düsseldorf street artist and fiftyfifty, the Raschér Saxophone Quartet and numerous young composers. To mark its tenth anniversary, we are looking back under the artistic direction of Jean-Philippe Apel and remembering what we have experienced so far. To do so, we pick out a few highlights from the 148 compositions performed so far. In addition to the concerts in Düsseldorf and Neuss, we will be performing this program at the German Choral Festival in Nuremberg. Free admission, donations are welcome.
