Alexandra Nepomnyashchaya and Richard Egarr present Pleyel four-hands on the fortepiano as a duo on Carl Czerny's pianistic arrangement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony. Carl Czerny was Beethoven's pupil and long-time companion. Also on the program is Gustav Mahler's famous Adagietto from the 5th Symphony. This is regarded as Mahler's musical love letter to his future wife Alma: she replied with a simple yet meaningful "Come!".
