Intimate and innovative jazz at the highest level: trumpeter Maik Krahl's quartet with saxophonist Stefan Karl Schmid, bassist Jakob Kühnemann and drummer Dominik Raab brings together outstanding musicians from the NRW jazz scene. Krahl's compositions breathe the spirit of the great days of jazz without coming across as nostalgic or possibly copycat, respecting tradition while at the same time providing fresh impetus. Krahl's fourth album "Magic of Consistency" was released at the end of 2024, which the renowned British jazz blog marlbank praised as a "nimbly swinging hard bop album". Maik Krahl is regarded as one of the leading German jazz trumpeters of his generation; his most important teachers include Till Brönner, Malte Burba and the American jazz trumpeter Ryan Carniaux. His virtuoso, clear trumpet playing will undoubtedly unfold a shimmering magic on the Seebühne.
