The world seems to be moving between the digital Middle Ages and illusionary progress. Whereas a few years ago we were on the verge of a breakthrough into a sustainable and equal future, today the law of the jungle and loss of reality are becoming the order of the day. But why are we willingly following destructive forces?

At re:publica 25, transformation researcher Maja Göpel will show who is driving these developments - and what hope and resilience can do to counter them.

The lecture is part of the program of re:publica 25, the festival for the digital society taking place this year from 26-28 May 2025 at STATION Berlin. Over the three days of the event, participants can expect a varied and diverse program with keynotes, discussions, workshops, meetups and other exciting formats on the most important issues facing our digital society.
