A workshop for reflection, exchange and further development
Even today, masculinity is still an experience that is rarely discussed. What does it actually mean to be "masculine" - personally, in everyday life, in relationships or at work? And who or what actually determines what is considered masculine?
This workshop is about dealing with masculinity(ies) - how we experience them, how they have shaped us and how they affect our society. We will also look at what is problematic or restrictive about common images of masculinity - and what alternatives there are.
We create a space in which we can talk about our experiences - in an appreciative, open and curious way. Together, we want to find out whether masculinity can also be thought of and lived differently.
The workshop is inspired by the thoughts of the feminist author bell hooks, who has worked intensively on the effects of traditional images of masculinity - and on the question of how change is possible in order to develop new, more unifying forms of masculinity.
Everyone is invited who would like to explore their own imprint on masculinity - whether cis, trans or non-binary. No previous knowledge necessary - openness is enough.
