After two years, the renowned Uruguayan artist María Cecilia Rodríguez Oddone, known as CECIRO, is returning to Germany. At the invitation of the Arte Popular Latino gallery, she is presenting her new works for the first time in Tübingen - her exhibition can also be seen at the Cologne gallery at the same time. The show includes new linocuts and screen prints as well as selected works from earlier series and will be opened by the artist herself.

CECIRO is regarded as a formative voice in Uruguay's urban art scene - clearly located in the field of feminist and especially eco-feminist forms of expression. With a background in graphic design and over ten years of artistic practice, she combines large-scale wall art with illustration and printmaking. As a member of the collective Casa Wang (Montevideo), she stands for committed art that makes questions about ecology, the body, femininity and social change visually accessible. Her works have received awards at Latinograff in France, at international urban art festivals in Italy and from the Uruguayan Ministry of Culture, among others.

The Arte Popular Latino gallery (Cologne) is dedicated to contemporary Latin American art and visual culture - with a focus on activism, visibility and artistic expression beyond the mainstream. We look forward to your visit.
