Marco da Silva Ferreira last wowed audiences at PACT in 2023 with his piece 'Bisonte', which questioned clichés of masculinity. The Portuguese-born dancer and choreographer, who is influenced by urban dance styles, returns to Essen in the autumn with the German premiere of his latest work. Violence, masculinity and militarization are central themes in 'F*cking Future' - a powerful performance that he is presenting at PACT shortly after its world premiere at the Biennale de la Danse in Lyon. Marco da Silva Ferreira explores the complex interplay between patriarchal systems and affects on a raised stage that is open on four sides. The audience is immersed in a round dance between revolution and resistance, in which queers, drags, knights and macho dancers march together.
