Modern big band jazz: The Maria Baptist Orchestra has been enriching the Berlin music scene for a decade with its unique combination of jazz and symphonic sound aesthetics. The orchestra, led by pianist, composer and conductor Maria Baptist, unites outstanding soloists from three generations to create an organic overall sound. Maria Baptist is one of the most prominent artists in contemporary jazz. The pianist and composer moves effortlessly between musical worlds and fuses jazz and classical music to create a new sound experience. Maria Baptist has presented her award-winning music on the world's major stages - from the Berlin Philharmonie to the Elbphilharmonie, from New York to Hong Kong - and documented it on 17 albums.
