ritual: Maria de Alvear & hand werk

In the organizer's words:

The composer Maria de Alvear often stages her concerts as rituals. She has studied the healing methods of the Cherokee and Scandinavian Inuit and has written over 200 compositions, rituals and ceremonies. Her works often blur the boundaries between nature and music, music and theater, installation and ritual, seriousness and play, spirituality and irritation, actors and audience. According to Maria, seeing, hearing, feeling, thinking and visioning are most likely to succeed in a ritual as an action that follows fixed rules and is frequently repeated. There are no spectators in a ritual, only the power of this community. She has composed a new work especially for ritual: "Principios y comienzos / Principles and Beginnings" is a ritual journey of growing up. It is always about the big picture, the eternal return, in which the arrival at an apparent maturity exists only as an esoteric return to the origin.

There will be a listening walk before the concert. Meeting point is at 19.00h in front of the main entrance of the Christuskirche.
