Marie Kruttli Trio

She is a fearless visionary and one of the most exciting up-and-coming talents jazz Europe currently has to offer: Marie Kruttli draws on a broad vocabulary, from classical to jazz to contemporary music. The compositions on her latest recording Scoria are highly complex structures, sometimes flowing calmly like water, sometimes dry and barren like the desert. As a pianist, Kruttli impresses with her mature tone, clear aesthetics and beguiling virtuosity. Her trio explores every aspect of improvised interplay between chamber music transparency and impetuous destructiveness. Light-footed, daring, breathtaking.

Norma Winstone & Kit Downes

Two generations united in a leap into the unknown: Norma Winstone, the voice of European jazz, and Kit Downes, the sensitive, versatile pianist Kit Downes enter into a poetic dialog of music and text. In Bonn, the duo will present their first joint album Outpost of Dreams. New pieces by Downes and songs from the jazz and folk repertoire create a sensitive song cycle that evolves from concert to concert in an improvisational flow. Delicate, unpredictable and direct.
