Climate change is a very big, serious threat. Most people know this and want their governments to take stricter measures. But when it comes down to it, resistance forms. Author and energy manager Marie-Luise Wolff explains why this is the case. As an insider on the energy scene, she explains that the global community will fail to meet the Paris climate targets. Instead, we are heading unchecked towards global warming of +2.8 degrees - with devastating consequences. However, the extent of the climate risks has not even been communicated, and clear crisis communication is one of the biggest failures of current policy. Wolff draws up a concrete plan for a rapid and radical CO2 reduction, which includes nothing less than a renaissance of the concept of freedom.

Marie-Luise Wolff, born in 1958, studied English and musicology and has held management positions at many major companies (such as Bayer AG, SONY and E.ON). She has been CEO of ENTEGA AG since 2013 and President of the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW) since 2018. In 2020, Westend published "Die Anbetung. On a super ideology called digitalization". Marie-Luise Wolff lives in Darmstadt and Cologne.
