The Marilyn Mazur Group presents a fascinating fusion of intense melodies and spontaneous energy. Under the direction of renowned percussionist and composer Marilyn Mazur, known for her colorful original compositions and poetic visions, a warm and communicative soundscape is created.
With impressive percussion installations, Mazur weaves exciting patterns of harmonic sounds and mystical grooves. In this Copenhagen-based group, she has brought together some of her closest musical companions: Danish saxophonist Fredrik Lundin, Swedish guitarist Krister Jonsson and Danish bassist Klavs Hovman. Together, these four creatives invite the audience on a journey of discovery that encompasses both physical and spiritual dimensions.

Marilyn Mazur Group - "Flow": A musical experience full of diversity and creativity

The album "Flow" by the Marilyn Mazur Group takes the listener on a fascinating sonic journey. It begins with a delicate, African-style kalimba melody that soon becomes more rhythmic. Guitar, bass and soprano saxophone gently set the mood before Marilyn Mazur joins in with her voice. With a determined, electric sound, the piece transforms into a funky and rousing composition.

The second song, "Summer Night Sky", forms an impressive counterpoint to the opener. A transfigured silence unfolds here, with a slow and spherical effect. The sounds of Fredrik Lundin's bass flute, a sustained guitar and the bass lines of Klavs Hovman and Krister Jonsson create a dreamlike atmosphere, accompanied by gentle gong interludes. This interlude leads seamlessly into the energetic track "Energy Hop". Driven by driving cymbals and drums, the tenor saxophone unleashes its full power, while the guitar surprises with melodious, quirky tones and the electric bass grooves to captivate the listener.

"Garden Moments" is one of the three collective improvisations on the album, which opens rhythmically with Marilyn's tongue drum. The 11 tracks of this remarkable new work, which follows the double CD "Tangled Temptations/The Magic Box" from 2010, flow so diversely. The musicians - Marilyn Mazur, Klavs Hovman and Fredrik Lundin from Denmark and Krister Jonsson from Sweden - have worked together in various constellations and are now bringing their creative energy together in this extraordinary project.
