Essentially, Markus Stockhausen's music is a unique, magnificent celebration right from the start - sometimes exhilarating, sometimes intimate and always subtle. When the virtuoso trumpeter condenses his adventurous sound projects into hymnal moments of jazz, his flair for musically intuitive soundscapes is revealed once again.
Markus Stockhausen has invited two outstanding guests, Nguyên Lê and Rabih Lahoud, for this special concert as part of the 100th anniversary of the Cologne University of Music, and he is particularly looking forward to them: "Nguyên Lê - master of the electric guitar. I've admired him since the mid-1990s and played with him in Dhafer Youssef's group and in my Possible Worlds Orchestra. Nguyên drives our group into new realms and gives us intense, adventurous sound spaces." And he says of Rabih Lahoud: "What a wonderful, expressive voice! Since we went on the 'Eternal Voyage' together in 2008, we have become good friends. Rabih is now one of the greatest singers in Germany and beyond."
