Markus Stockhausen Group feat. Nguyên Lê & Rabih Lahoud – "Celebration"

Basically, his music is a unique, magnificent celebration from the very beginning - sometimes exhilarating, sometimes intimate and always subtle. When exceptional trumpeter Markus Stockhausen condenses his adventurous sound projects into hymnal moments of jazz, he once again demonstrates his consummate feel for musically intuitive soundscapes.

Over 100 releases on labels such as Sony, ECM, EMI Classics, ACT etc., and hundreds of concerts with over 100,000 listeners ('Jubilée' for the Kölner Philharmonie / open air on the Rhine) document his work.

Markus Stockhausen has invited two outstanding guests, Nguyên Lê and WDR Jazz Prize winner Rabih Lahoud, for a very special concert as part of the 100th anniversary of the Cologne University of Music: "Nguyên Lê - master of the electric guitar. I have admired him since the mid-1990s, when he played with me in Dhafer Youssef's band and my Possible Worlds Orchestra, as well as in groundbreaking concerts with Randy Brecker, Carla Bley, Ray Charles and Michel Portal. Nguyên pushes our group into new realms and gives us intense, adventurous sound spaces." And about Rabih Lahoud he says: "What a wonderful, expressive voice! Since we went on the 'Eternal Voyage' together in 2008, we have become good friends. Rabih is now one of the greatest singers in Germany and beyond."
