Pianist Masako Ohta and trumpeter Matthias Lindermayr combine classical and contemporary music with improvised jazz in their duo. Since 2019, their musical partnership has developed into an intuitive project that was nominated for the German Jazz Award in 2023. Following their successful debut Mmmmh , they now present their new album Nozomi ("The Hope"), produced by Martin Brugger at Squama Studio in Munich. With nine new tracks, including a new interpretation of Ryūichi Sakamoto's Hibari, the duo expands its sound spectrum and unfolds a harmonious, nuanced sound world full of musical depth and spontaneity.
