With An Evening with Masood Boomgaard & Self-Help Singh, South African comedian Masood Boomgaard presents his most personal and sharp-tongued live show to date in September 2025. After sold-out performances in Germany, he now brings a unique double dose of ruthless honesty, spiritual satire and dry humor to the stage - with a double cast: as himself and as his world-famous character Self-Help Singh.

As the "demotivation guru", Self-Help Singh has become a cult figure with his biting truths and viral videos - a satire on the self-help industry that replaces feel-good phrases with exposing honesty. Singh is not here to help - but to show in an entertaining way how little help is sometimes necessary.

For the first time in this show, however, Boomgaard also reveals the person behind the viral phenomenon: comedian, world traveler and observer of the absurd. With stories from his childhood in South Africa, insights into more than 20 countries on tour, and humorous reflections on culture, identity and life's lies, he bridges the gap between real life and comic art figure.

"This show is not self-help," says Boomgaard self-deprecatingly, "it's a reminder of how ridiculous life can be - and how liberating it is to laugh about it."

The show combines wit, spirituality and sarcasm - an evening that does not build up, but tears down: expectations, clichés and any form of hypocrisy.
