Chris Goss is one of the most elusive geniuses in American music. As the singer, guitarist and driving force behind Masters Of Reality, he has spent more than 40 years embarking on his own musical journey that has taken him from mystical blues to desert rock to psychedelic-tinged beauty and all points in between.
Where others follow the crowd, the California-born desert dweller has carved out a career unlike any other. A desire to follow his own artistic muse and not bow to outside pressures has resulted in a series of albums that sound like none other than Masters Of Reality and have left a subtle yet indelible mark on the generations of musicians who have heard them.
For most people, that would be enough. But Goss has also positioned himself as one of the most important and influential producers of the last 30 years. The list of bands and artists he has worked with in this capacity is long and illustrious: Queens Of The Stone Age, Kyuss, Mark Lanegan, Foo Fighters, The Cult, UNKLE, Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland, former Hole bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur and even Hollywood star Russell Crowe.
Now Goss has returned under the Masters Of Reality banner, their new album entitled 'The Archer' will be released on March 28th via Mascot Records.
