Materialschau: Wege zur Bauwende

Under the title "Materialschau: Wege zur Bauwende", the ZfBK - Center for Building Culture Saxony, together with KREATIVES SACHSEN, is showing the possibilities offered by new, as well as traditional, manufacturing processes for materials in the context of sustainable and future-oriented interior design.

The show focuses on materials that are made from available raw materials that are otherwise considered waste. Visitors will discover which products can be created from wood production waste, former stage decorations, textile waste or birch tree bark. In the context of current construction price trends and the availability of resources, alternative processes and the reuse of building components are a highly topical issue, which we address using individual examples.

The exhibition presents selected material innovations and the minds behind the projects and companies. Table tops and other hard-shell materials made from textile waste (Refalett), floor coverings made from birch bark (Nevi) or wooden forms - for example for stage sets - from the 3D printer (Addwood and GreTa/HfBK Dresden) can be explored on site and offer an opportunity to discuss possible applications.

Expert impulses on 26.03. | 03.04. | 10.04

Three expert impulses will supplement the range of materials presented with further examples of new products and applications and will then provide space for discussion on current developments in the building turnaround and aesthetics.

Innovation show workshops on 26.03. | 08.04. | 10.04, 13:00-18:00 in each case

The ZfBK becomes an innovation workshop: Together with practitioners, students develop concrete examples of products or possible uses, which are then produced as prototypes. Interested parties can watch, are informed about the process and can in turn ask questions about the use of the materials.
