Drew Daniel and M.C. Schmidt have been making music under the name Matmos since 1997, first in San Francisco and since 2007 in Baltimore. They have created music from a heterogeneous collection of objects and sources. These raw materials are transformed into accessible forms, often augmented by traditional musical instruments. // Chantal Michelle is a composer and interdisciplinary artist who explores the tactile and spatial properties of sound. Her work incorporates feedback systems, multi-channel loudspeaker arrangements and psychoacoustic phenomena to explore the relationship between sound, perception and physical space.
