Max Richard Leßmann: Liebe in Zeiten der Follower

Max Richard Leßmann is a phenomenon: he has been posting a poem a day on Instagram (@maxrichardlessmann) for years and is frenetically celebrated by more than 183,000 followers. With his poetry, the musician and podcaster has created a safe space in a world in which hardly anyone actually feels safe anymore.

Rapper Casper writes: "Max's poetry is both strong and vulnerable, sarcastic and empathetic - but always sharply observed and almost embarrassingly honest. With no other writer in recent years have I thought over and over again: Damn, I would have liked to have written that too." And Ina Müller says: "I don't like poetry. Only those by Max Richard Leßmann."

Max Richard Leßmann's poetry usually reaches people via smartphone and yet it also does well on conventional book pages, as the poetry collection Liebe in Zeiten der Follower (Kiepenheuer & Witch) proves. At the Lyriktage Frankfurt, the digital safe space will be relocated to the ROMANFABRIK, where Max Richard Leßmann will read new and recent poems.
