Maxed Out – Modern Jazz

It is the sound of MAXED OUT that immediately makes you sit up and take notice: a relaxed beat, urban echoes, arrangements that are not recognizable at first glance.After his highly acclaimed jazz quartet, Maxim Frischmann shows a completely different side of the young tenor saxophonist from Berlin with his new band project. Both he and his four bandmates Björn Atle Anfinsen (tp), Tilo Weber (dr) and Tommy Fuller (b) are deeply rooted in jazz and firmly established in the scene, and their EP released in June 2024 shows that they venture far beyond genre boundaries: beats play a central role, many synthesizers and also some funky elements are recognizable. Above all, however, there is an originality here, because this young band is searching for and finding its own sound world and identity. It makes you curious to accompany them on this journey, to get involved with their unusual approach and to trust in the extraordinary talents of these four young musicians: Maxim Frischmann (tenorsax, MPC + FX, synth),Björn Atle Anfinsen (trumpet + FX), Thomas Fuller (double bass), Tilo Weber(drums).
