"It Ain't Necessarily So!"
Concert performance with original compositions and works from various genres by Hildegard von Bingen, Barbara Strozzi, Ethel Smyth, George Gershwin, Frank Zappa, Thelonious Monk and others.
The balancing act between classical music, contemporary music and improvisation - this has always interested the young Fellowship artist Maxine Troglauer. As perhaps the world's only renowned soloist on the bass trombone, she is an exceptional phenomenon in both jazz and classical music. During her fellowship at the Beethovenfest, she will create a staged concert experience in an unusual quintet line-up consisting of bass trombone, voice, double bass, percussion/vibraphone and piano. The focus is on questions of belonging and the pigeonholes in music and society. The performers shake up the self-evident aspects of the classical music business and music history. They ignore genre boundaries, tell of personal experiences and of forgotten great female artists.
A production of the Beethovenfest Bonn
