Thank you for coming and for your interest in mindfulness and the MBSR program! Our course is recognized as a prevention course, i.e. depending on your health insurance company, you can apply for partial or full cost coverage.
When Jon Kabat-Zinn developed his program in the USA in the 1970s, he primarily wanted to support people with the particular personal challenges of physical illness. His participants' experiences in the courses included gaining more peace and clarity, living life more consciously, recognizing their own stress patterns and, above all, reconnecting with themselves and finding access to their own resources.
Since then, ever more extensive scientific research has shown that the MBSR program, as well as many other mindfulness-based concepts, has a positive effect on dealing with stress in a wide variety of contexts.
The abbreviation MBSR stands for "Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction" and the program includes the following elements:
In addition to exercises for body awareness (including yoga), there are theory units on mindfulness and stress against the background of current research in psychology and medicine.
We do the exercises in the group, but also in small groups, whereby there is also enough space for exchanging experiences.
We meet once a week for 2.5 hours for 8 weeks. There is also a so-called mindfulness day lasting several hours on a Saturday. For sustainable learning, experience has shown that you also need to practice daily to consolidate what you have learned.
In principle, anyone can learn the MBSR concept. We will discuss goals and expectations together in a personal preliminary talk.
Participation fee / services:
In addition to the preliminary talk and the course dates, the course fee also includes the materials in the form of audio recordings and the participant handbook.
Mats, cushions, blankets and chairs are available in the studio, but you are welcome to bring your own equipment.
If you attend regularly, you will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the MBSR course, which you can use to apply for reimbursement from your health insurance provider.
The course is registered under the course ID KU-ST-ZBK9BZ with the Central Testing Center for Prevention. Please find out in advance how much your health insurance company will subsidize or whether they will even cover the course completely.
