Mclusky, a Welsh trio committed to both punk and indie rock, first emerged on the scene in 1998. Led by Andrew Falkous (vocals/guitar), the band originally also included Matthew Harding (drums) and Jonathan Chapple (bass). Mclusky's debut album "My Pain and Sadness Is More Sad and Painful Than Yours" was released in 2000.
They then signed to "Too Pure" and worked with Steve Albini to produce their second album. The two singles "Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues" and "To Hell with Good Intentions" were released before the album "Mclusky Do Dallas" was released in April 2002. The album was universally praised as a huge leap forward from the charming yet amateurish "My Pain..." and made it onto several yearly best-of lists on both sides of the Atlantic. The following summer, Mclusky played various festivals in the UK and gained a huge following.
The third album "The Difference Between Me and You Is That I'm Not on Fire" was released in 2004 and also attracted a lot of attention before the band called it a day the following year. Falkous and Egglestone later joined forces with members of the Welsh band Jarcrew to form Future of the Left.
In 2015, Mclusky reunited with Damien Sayell on bass and vocals. In May 2025, after 21 years, a new album entitled "The World Is Still Here And So Are We" will finally be released on Ipecac Records and, that much is certain, will leave a lasting impression on the Noiserockland map.
