My Only Friend lives in the moment, shapes silence and celebrates transformation with its real-time ambient. The Jaeger-Membrez-Hemingway trio pulls the listener out of the familiar and catapults them into an electro-acoustic universe full of beauty.

Michael Jaeger (saxophones), Vincent Membrez (synthesizer) and Gerry Hemingway (drums) are my only friend. They come from Switzerland and the USA and have been on the road together for several years. Their ambient is as loud and quiet as midnight. Their sound is a living organism.

American drummer Gerry Hemingway has been creating and playing solo and ensemble music since 1974. He was part of the Anthony Braxton Quartet for a long time and now lives in Lucerne. Zurich saxophonist Michael Jaeger is a formative voice in Swiss jazz and has worked as a bandleader with musicians such as Greg Osby, Tom Rainey and Norbert Pfammatter. Vincent Membrez from Biel is characterized by his versatility, which ranges from pop to contemporary music. His personal language on the synthesizer conveys spontaneity, energy and groove.

With his debut CD "Zoomorphisms" (UNIT), Mein einziger Freund creates a lively experiment in which free noise, jazz and improvisation merge into a pulsating web of sound.
