Memento Odesa: Benefizkonzert mit Jazz-Größe Sebastian Studnitzky und dem Kammerorchester der Philharmonie Odesa

In the organizer's words:

"Remember Odesa" is the title of this special concert format. The project was launched in the summer of 2023 in the Philharmonic Hall in Odesa, just a few days before a Russian missile hit an Orthodox cathedral not far from the Philharmonic Hall. Since March 2024, the Odesa Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Volodymyr Dikiy, has been touring Germany and Ukraine with this homage to their city. The program audibly captures the indomitable spirit of a people under siege, past and present, and is dedicated to the orchestra's Ukrainian hometown and the people who lived, suffered and died there in the midst of the Russian war of aggression.
Sebastian Studnitzky is the initiator of this project as well as the composer and orchestrator of the music. He is not only an ECHO-Jazz and OPUS-Klassik prizewinner (even on two different instruments), but also the founder and director of the Berlin XJAZZ! Festival.

The activities of the "MEMENTO ODESA" project are supported by the non-profit organization More Than Music e.V.. This association also donates the profits from the project to aid projects in Ukraine.
