Memorias Latinoamericanas
Bilingual jugglery, theater and music

"Memorias Latinoamericanas" is a playful bilingual theater piece inspired by the work of the Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano. Based on documentary sources, it brings Latin American history of the 20th century back to life. To the rhythm of the various sounds, the audience enters into micro-stories about the iconic characters and communities of this continent. The selected historical events show continuities and reference lines up to the present day. Whether the question of sexual expression in Colombia, the territorial rights of indigenous groups in Chile or cultural identities in Mexico, a look into history is always a look into the present and the future. "Memorias Latinoamericanas" is intended to promote intercultural exchange and introduce the audience to the history of Latin America in a playful way.

Samanta Elena Pizarro Aliste and Adam Arhelger

Samanta Elena Pizarro Aliste
(Santiago, Chile. 1985) Actress, singer, theater director. She is part of the groups Teatro Microensamble, Cabaret invisible, Manual de Carroña in Santiago de Chile and TADECO Theater in Mexico City. She directed the works "La isla Desconocida" (2008), "En Construcción" (2012), "Memorias Latinoamericanas" (2021) and the short film "En el ojo del agua" (2019) with Charles Mc Dougall (British Emmy and BAFTA) at EICTV San Antonio de los baños, Cuba. She is part of the production team of the International Cabaret Festival FIC Chile (2014) and the Escena Obrera Festival (2016). In 2020 she founded the group La Perra Alegría in Wuppertal with Adam Arhelger

Adam Arhelger
(Wuppertal, Germany. 1987) Accordionist, occupational therapist (B.Sc., NL) and health scientist (M.Sc., SE). Since 2016 he has been playing with various musical ensembles such as "Simple Tings", "Corbastiks" and "WASI" at various venues in Germany and Europe. He has worked in various theater projects such as "Wupperspuren" Theater mit Geflüchteten (2015) and "Memorias Latinoamericanas" (2021). In 2020 he founded the group "La Perra Alegría" in Wuppertal with Samanta Pizarro.
