From classical music to Knef

After the great success of her first solo show "Wenn es Nacht wird...", Meta dedicates her new stage program to the morning after. The tall blonde, who, as always, enters the stage in the style of the 1920s with tails, suspenders and hat, takes us on a journey through musical daydreams, sobering truths, high hopes and happy coincidences. She switches effortlessly between singing and violin and sometimes boldly picks up the musical saw. With her voice and various instruments, she flies
and passion through the most diverse genres.

But what remains the morning after? Nothing but mere memories of the past? The songs of the great Hilde Knef are just as important in answering this question as
Grieg's Morgenstimmung or Billie Holiday's Good morning heartache. Morricone's Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod gets under your skin just as much as Piazzolla's Regreso al amor (Return to Love). In the end, the promising realization remains: there is no reason to be bored even during the day - after the night is before the night!

Meta Hüper is a musical jack-of-all-trades. The Berlin chansonnière par excellence combines her love of the music of the 1920s with her classical roots, tango nuevo and French and German chanson. She inspires with her versatile musical talent, shines with her singing and violin and surprises with unusual instruments. She presents all this with her own arrangements as a musical synthesis of the arts that is second to none.

As a singer, violinist and bandleader, she has performed on international stages for years with greats such as Till Brönner and Max Raabe. As a member of the successful female quartet Salut Salon, she toured the globe for 8 years. Since 2024, she has been performing exclusively as a soloist. Together with the Capital Dance Orchestra and Sharon Brauner, she presents the jointly developed revue "Berlin, Du coole Sau" at the Tipi am Kanzleramt. In her new solo program "Der Morgen danach", Meta Hüper will be accompanied by Jens Schlichting on the piano in her usual confident and original manner. The celebrated silent film pianist already wowed audiences in Meta's previous program. He is equally at home in classical music and jazz and knows how to lend the evening a special sparkle with sensitivity and musical refinement.
