There will be a reunion with Michael Schweßinger! The author, who emigrated to Ireland, will be presenting his new book "This is not Paradise", which he wrote together with Leipzig photographer and filmmaker Marcel Schreiter. Anyone who knows Michael Schweßinger knows that the reading and discussion will be an experience.
Beforehand,"Die Literarische Destille" will present its traditional best of at the Leipzig Book Fair. This time, literary sommeliers Ralf Schönfelder and M. Kruppe will be reading texts by and about Dorothy Parker and Hunter S. Thompson.
About the book "This is not paradise"
Zeitz - not a place to live, not a place to stay. This or something similar may have been Michael Schweßinger's impressions when the great hype of the artists' influx faded away into a gray, desolate, hopeless landing. Schweßinger lived with his family in Zeitz for some time and organized the "Word & Sound" series of events there with his author friends M. Kruppe, Marcel Schreiter and David Gray. It remains a mystery how he was able to put down on paper a deeply captivating trip through everyday life in Zeitz from the depressingly intense impressions of the city and with the photographic depth of Marcel Schreiter.
