During the colonization of the ice planet Nilfheim, Mickey 17 (Robert Pattinson) has the task of helping the expedition crew - especially with the jobs that are dangerous. Mickey has one advantage: he can be replaced. If he dies, the next clone is simply produced, who not only has his previous memories, but can also continue the work seamlessly. But when Mickey goes missing for a short time one day, he discovers that Mickey 18 has already been launched. But Mickey 17 does not want to die. So he has to keep his clone a secret. But life on Nilfheim is also becoming increasingly dangerous because the mission is in danger of failing, the food is running out and the local population is not on friendly terms with their new human neighbors. So Mickey 17 has to survive in this environment - as a disposable clone...
