"Milchzähne" is a directorial work by Sophia Bösch, based on a screenplay by Sophia Bösch and Roman Gielke. The story about Skalde is based on the novel of the same name by Helene Bukowski.

A village in a place and time not too far removed from our own. As the daughter of an outsider, Skalde has always strived to overcome the stigma attached to her mother Edith and be accepted by the village community.
While her desire to belong has driven mother and daughter apart, Skalde has become the village headman's protégé and a respected member of the community.
One day, Skalde finds a strange child in the forest. Knowing that the community does not tolerate strangers, Skalde takes the girl home with him on impulse. When the village finds out about the child, consequences are imminent - Skalde has broken the law.
In order to maintain her position and protect the child, she proposes a risky business deal. Meanwhile, her mother has her very own plan.
