Milonaut - Spheric Soundscapes & Bouncy Beats

With Milonaut, baroque texts meet spherical beats. The four musicians from Leipzig, Dresden and Berlin unite their musical backgrounds (jazz, classical, pop) to combine English baroque poetry with their own sound language.

In terms of sound, the four musicians combine a variety of styles in a light-hearted way to create the recognizable Milonaut sound. The result is a mixture of spherical synthesizer sounds, snotty brass riffs and groovy basslines that meet danceable beats, over which a warm, intense and virtuoso voice sometimes floats, sometimes screams, sometimes raps and improvises. Milonaut sounds as if Fat Freddy's Drop, José James, Sophie Hunger, Pink Floyd and Radiohead had come together to make danceable music.

The band thrives on its irrepressible stage energy. Anyone who sees and hears Milonaut live immediately realizes that there are four people on stage who have an incredible desire to make music and carry the audience away. The musicians, who trained at music academies, have won multiple awards (Nahaufnahme Berliner Festspiele, Bundeswettbewerb Gesang, World Street Music Award) and touring experience (Sophie Hunger, Alice Phoebe Lou, May The Muse), are impressive both in an intimate duo setting and as a full line-up with numerous keyboards.

Through the seamless transitions of the songs, Milonaut manages to sound like a handmade, versatile live DJ set that you don't really want to end because there's always something new to discover. The warm synthesizer pads embrace the listeners without putting them to sleep, because the beat, sometimes soft, sometimes swaggy, sometimes rockingly rough, never disappears. Milonaut's concerts create spaces in which you can dream away and just as easily dance a short time later.
