Lecture as part of the Queer History Month Hamburg:

How do feminist ideas of the body, desire, gender and sex fit in with a sex store? What opportunities can such a space offer? Can political ideals be brought together with the constraints of capitalist logic? In the lecture, a historical arc will be drawn from the world's first sex store in Flensburg to the first explicitly feminist sex stores that emerged later in the USA. The social and political struggles and changes behind this are interesting. Finally, participants can discuss how feminism, capitalism and sex-positive content can come together on the basis of real issues from everyday sex store life.
